Canadian sellers face
many problems our US counterparts don’t have.
Custom Search
• Exposure is often limited
by the sites we are welcome to sell on. We
can sell on Amazon.ca, but not on Amazon.com. The
Amazon.com site has many times the traffic and sales that Amazon.ca
site has.
• Postage costs for Canadian sellers
are many times the cost of USPS postage and as a result, we can’t
get the same money for our items that the US sellers get.
• Shipping times from Canada
take usually a week or more for delivery - much longer than USPS
shipping times.
• The high shipping costs
and extended times when shipping from Canada will often exclude
you from sales on ebay.com and earn you lower feedback if you
manage to register as a US seller.
• In some cases if your
DSR ratings drop on eBay below the acceptable level, you will
be suspended. (I even have a customer who was suspended from
Amazon.com for low feedback due to the extended shipping times.
We have rectified the situation for him, but it is always a concern
for Canadian sellers).
